# Add Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to a PDF using the Plustek Book Pavilion

<span style="font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif;">Plustek </span><span style="font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif;">Book Pavilion:</span>

<span style="font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif;">Application: Plustek OCR (click in the drop-down menu)</span>

<span style="font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif;">This will automatically add OCR when you click transfer after the scan is completed.</span>

<span style="font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif;">There is another option but it will take a while:</span>

- Scan article as normal
- Click Transfer
- Open File in Adobe Acrobat
- Go to the column on the right side and click “Scan &amp; OCR”
- Go to the new bar at the top (Row that says “Scan &amp; OCR”)
- Click “Enhance”
- Click “Scanned Document”
- <span style="font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif;">Make sure the drop-down “Pages” says “All Pages” and that “Recognize text” is checked.</span>

- Click “Enhance”
- Exit out of document
- Click “Yes” when it asks to save document
- <span style="font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif;">Upload document to email/Alma</span>
